Quarterly Dividend Authorized
On October 24, 2007, the Board of Directors of STERIS Corporation authorized the payment of a quarterly dividend in the amount of $0.06 per share. The dividend is payable December 12, 2007 to shareholders of record at the closing of the stock transfer books on November 14, 2007. A copy of the press release announcing this action is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.

STERIS CORPORATION DECLARES REGULAR QUARTERLY DIVIDEND
Mentor, Ohio (October 24, 2007)STERIS Corporation (NYSE: STE) today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized a regular quarterly dividend in the amount of $0.06 per common share. The dividend is payable December 12, 2007 to shareholders of record at the close of business on November 14, 2007.
